Road Angel 2 laser sensor

  VRS
just checking that the laser sensor works through the uv windscreen of the clios?
ive got the external ariel fitted to the rear window and just want to check that i dont need to buy a number plate laser sensor!

tbh, if it goes off you've pretty much been had anyway so I wouldn't bother with the number plate sensor, though they do aim more at the plate than the screen...

I always thought you needed the number plate sensor, but I'm not really sure, and I don't have one. Would be interested to know too.

i understand that if u do get zapped by the laser then it is probably too late but was just wondering if the screen did affect the sensor or not?

Yeah .... think it does effect it mate. Mine didnt work. Have a B&O TV which the remote for the TV sets off the sensor so handy to test. Try any remote at home....

It is true that often you wouldnt have time to react but they can get interference which slows the process down thus giving you time.... it can also pick up scatter from other cars being targeted.

P.s I have a No. plate sensor mounted behind the bottom grill that has gone off twice with no ticket but dont think i was speeding anyway...

Tested mine with my TV remote and it doesnt work behind the screen but works behind the grill...obviuosly not a reliable test but was told by an ICE installer that it doesnt and he has fitted many.

Oh... and it is only some TV remotes.. only works with my B&O

Yeah... think that would be fine. Mine worked when putting it there but if i want it to sit flat on the dash with the windscreen mount it doesnt fit through the square. Strangely, i was told that some screens and dashes are set differently so wouldnt work with all.

I thought it was just the GPS signal that was effected by the screen, thought the UV coating had no effect on the laser going through.

The number plate sensor will always be a better option as that's wear they are said to aim.

I wouldnt rely on Laser detectors-Waste of time IMHO-Like previously said-Once it goes off you have pretty much been targeted.
Don't rely on Laser scatter as there isn't really any as the beam is so small and concentrated to a tiny area on Target.
Radar you will get more Scatter from.

I did have an S5 and it did go off with A traffic car behind me so there is a use for these, but it was going off while we were in stationery traffic!

would have had nothing to do with the traffic cap mate. police while travelling calculate your speed as distance/time so nothing is going to pick up on that.

I can personally say that once the laser alarm on an origin B2 goes off youre had! Think its just an early warning sign that theres a letter coming your way!

Ive got mine mounted behind my rear view mirror, it can see behind and infront not sure if ive got a uv screen though on my mk1 172.

Not 100% sure how these mobile cameras work however - normally when i pass it doing the right speed it doesnt sound - actually wondered if it was working myself!
But found out a couple of months ago it does actually work - it beeped like hell... 2 days later i got the letter....

thought you were saying it was the UV stopping it. Yeah the wipers will block it afterall light cant pass through them. Thats why I have mine looking out of the top of the clear square just above the wipers. Here you need an additional antenna which i have positioned looking out of the rear window.

Well, i am presuming the UV screen stops it too, cause when i put the remote right up to the window it doesnt go off, but if i aim it through the square it does.

It might be that the remote is not powerful enough to get through the UV and the police lasers are but that was i always presumed to be the reason.

But if i want it to sit neatly on the dash, it doesnt go through the windscreen wipers anyways. Thats what i was trying to say. Sorry..
