would it be ok for me to just unscrew this to have a look ?

does it need refittin in any particular order or torque or is it ok to just use a socket/spanner ?

no particlar order - only thing would be to check the condition of the gasket before you put the cover back on, make sure its in good nick or youl get the annoying seeps of oil!

Youll probably need a new gasket as there metal ones now, as apposed to the old plastic/rubber ones. Also some use stretch bolts so watch out as they can snap .... as I found out .... lol.
