RR and Chip question

Hello,

If you get your car chipped by say Hill Power they just drop a chip in thats modified to your cars mods. But if I am understanding this correctly its just a different map that they put on depending on what you have had done. So its not actually perfectly setup for your car. So you get a chip thats fully programmable that can be setup just like you want. So then people go on about putting your car on the rollers and setting it up. Is this just simply setting up the fully modifiable chip or is it something different? Also is it possible to get a chip installed by hill power then altered on the rolling road (if thats what the rolling road setup actually alters)? Then you can get these piggyback units, which as far as I can tell just sit ontop of your original chip and tell it to ingnore everything it knows and do what it says. So whats the best way to go about this?

For the ultimate tweakability you need a fully mappable unit like a Unichip, this allows you to map all kinds of stuff with 100s of settings fuelling, timing, extra injectors, nitrous if you want. It takes a while on the rolling road, at least 4 hours i think. So youre best doing it when all the mods are done if you can, save doing it again. The Hill Power one is much cheaper, and there are maps for stage 1, stage 2 etc. However if you get your car rolling roaded and its overfuelling say, you can get it mapped again by Hill Power to sort it, though they dont have a rolling road themselves on site yet :(

Nick is gettin a RR, but its lookin like he is going to have to move premises to do it, spoke to him about 2 weeks ago about it

his chips are good, definite performance improvements and very good value for money

If you go to Superchips they can customise your chip (not really a chip!) to suit your mods on a rolling road. It costs extra (about £100 more) over the normal Superchip price, but it does mean you get a proper setup for your mods. Im sure this is the sort of thing that Hillpower would seek to offer if they can get a RR.

Cool, I think, no offence to Superchips, I would trust nick more. Tell him to get himself a RR and I will be right down. Or up, or accross or whever the hell he is.
