hehe, my mate use to work for the offical renault garage and said they use a screw driver coz when they had the special tool in someone would nick it within a month so not many offical garrages use them,

Doesnt make it right tbh. Without the tools your timing WILL be out. No ifs, buts, or maybes.

One of the many reasons why people on here take there cars to specialists instead of Renaults monkeys.

At the end of the day its your car so you've got to do what you think is right. As long as your brother is confident with what hes doing then thats fine and hes knows that if it goes wrong he'll be paying around a grand to get it sorted for you!

i dont expect anyone to agree coz they dont kno my bro, and id be saying the same thing if my bro waznt who he was but hes never done anything to any of my cars that wasnt the best work iv seen, and he spends most of his time reading books about performance tuning or building race cars with twin bike engines from scratch, if i waznt 100% confident in him and he waznt 100% confident in the job he and i wouldnt be doing the work. but when i told him about the tools he jus says that all the manufacters tell them he needs a special tool to to cambelts and hes never had one go wrong.
