RS TUNER PROBLEM?

Following on from my key fob thread....my battery had gone dead, jump started my 53 reg 172 cup. Electric fault light showing on the dash and revving to 2 k? switch off the engine and then restarted and everything is back to normal.....then take it for a drive and the car doesnt feel the same...sluggish. Im wondering whether the ecu has been reset back to factory settings and whether my rs tuner is not mapped to the ecu? ive connected the hardware and it wont let me connect saying "vin not recognised"

Now i aint got a clue how to sort this, is there a specialist in the northwales/west area that can deal with my rs tuner?

weirdly the green gearbox light comes on which never did before when high revving? which makes me think its reset to factory ecu settings. With the iginition on , the battery and stop lights remain on. but go off when the engine is on.

i think the battery and stop lights are always on when just the ignition is on not 100% tho

i dont think its limp mode? i can still accelerate hard....it just feels sluggish....?

ok thats good, now just need to know if it has reverted back to the standard ecu map? does anyone know of a specialist in the northwest/wales area?

How did you connect the RStuner to the car, did you follow the correct procedure, mine said the same on the laptop when i didnt connect it correctly

the Green gearbox light is a shift light it tells you wen to change gear at the right revs i cant think how you havnt seen this before the only thing i can think of is that you havnt really driven your car hard before and on this time you took you car out when it was cold and the rev limiter cutts in at 5000 rpm or something on sports when they are cold and 7000 rpm when there warmed up and again might be sluggish because it was cold?

also the battery light wont go out if the engine isnt running because it isnt charging the battery thats why the battery light was on and the stop light is on because the engine is stopped so yes thats all normal

battery disconnected (same as dead i think) does'nt do anything to the map. Henk has told me this before.

my car has to be disconnected form it's battery when parked along with the caravans due to insurane reasons ; before i did i asked Henk if this would cause problems with my map.

Your battery has to be in good condition though to run properly !

it must be a placebo effect on me? Ive got the rs tuner, replacement element and ktec stealth so pretty much standard


lol. Your right binksy i dont normally drive it hard. But i have bounced off the limiter before and never noticed the light....saying that i probably had my eyes on the road. Ive tested the mpg and got a good 47.1 so thats ok. Im planning for a decat/inlets in the near future so who would be the best person to fit and map the rs tuner to suit?

also how much for the inlets/fitting and mapping dya reckon? im going to go for a silenced decat from k-tec.
