Offft! Those details will be on a 30k car easily once it's on a shell.

I'm not entirely sure, I've done it once with a mini as it was completely rotten. It's just like a re-shell isn't it.

  Whichever has fuel
Look at the date he aquired it on the logbook...

He's blatantly found that in a barn and is now going to be laughing all the way to a bank.

It's definitely not illegal as the other shell with be re-registered (like a Q plate idea) Old one will never see the road again.

It's not illegal if done correctly, it is illegal if your swapping about vin plates and so on for the hell of it

Just out of curiosity do you think he paid 9k for something that would make another car illegal?

YES, put vin and plate on a good mk1 shell - £20k clear profit, theres a reason the number plate and full vin isnt in the advert.
What part of putting a vin on another car do you think is legal?

when you reshell a car;), its been done countless times in the car repair salvage business, its common practice with the heavy smashed cars, for example one which has had the side or backend crushed would be easier to reshell it than weld a backend (cutnshut) on the mint front or side

its ONLY when you steal a car or get a stolen shell and then use that to repair your car which is classified as illegal, if you purchase the shell legit (for example off the chap shifting the cup shell on here) there's defo nothing illegal or wrong doing that

I'm out. You clearly have the brain of a 4 year old.

Lets have the look of the members who said it was a bargain and those that said it was expensive. I think we can see who's right.
