Suzuki SV650
K, this morning, doing about 20 towards a roundabout, saw a lorry coming round so I put it into 1st gear from 2nd and as soon as I put my foot down a bit and let the clutch up something made a bang... Managed to crawl her to an Asda car park, revs were quite high, around 2/3k on idle, all over the place...
... The far sparkplug (on the drivers side) had shot out of its hole!!! Started the car again and managed to get it back up here to the university car park. Now, here is the serious problem I have!
Ive got a spare set of plugs and I tried putting these in, but the one hole which the sparkplug shot out of is bigger than the other 3, and its just noticeable from looking closely. The thread still appears to be there and the thread is still on the sparkplug which shot out but the plug wont stay in the hole, it wont tighten up.
Now in the Haynes manual it says something about the sleeve of the sparkplug thread? Not exactly sure what it said but deffo something which could be missing which is why the hole is bigger than the others. Is this it and is it going to be costing me a few quid for a part from Renault or am I looking at serious garage labour money?? If its going to cost me too much Im just going to go apesh*t, get another two student overdrafts out and get a GTT engine fitted, otherwise, is there anything I can do myself?
Steve.
