Run in time

  Ziel Nurburgring

Ladies and Gentleman, on your new Clio 172s etc how many miles did you do before giving it a good test drive. Renault recommend about 700 miles keeping under 3500rpm to loosen them up. Ive read stories they dont really loosen up for a few 000 miles, but didnt want to go and trash my new motah!

Also, once and for all, is the gear shift light (Lets call in that for nutralitys sake) an optimum change or change before you kill me light??

As Jon says, 600 or 700 miles then up it gradually. If you can do this over a few long journeys so much the better.

The gearchange light is just a warning that the limiters about to kick in. Peak power is reached at about 6500 or even less, so changing before you see the light is optimum.

Its actually 625miles (1000km) at no more than 3500rpm (or 80mph) according to the stuff I got with my Cup and I did run mine in...

Then after this point I just gradually built it up to about 1000miles, then trotted off to Santa Pod and ran it up the strip with 1257 miles on the clock! ;)

Done about 2500miles now and it just keeps getting better!
