running rough

Hi i have a clio 172 and have owned it for a fue weeks now.Firstly I have fitted a induction kit and removed the air box in the passenger arch box but noticed there is a solanoid on the vacuum line with a connector is this important? and what dose it do?
secondly the clio seems to idle a bit rough and i can here it popping/sudden blows out of the back box also when reving at idle it almost stalls first bit of a weird one no lights on the dash either
any ideas??

that would be the acoustic valve basically cuts induction noise below 3krpm pull the hose off and bung it with a bolt. popping from exhaust is normal

yep you need to block the tube you were talking about. This may also be causing your idle prob, it not being blocked yet.

Is it possible to have a very slight idle variations if you have a hole in the standard airbox?

Mine? 182.. 55 reg. No idea what phase the box is..

But who ever had it before refitted the box badly. And the tube that connects the box to the engine was "jammed".. so the walls cracked and now i see a slight hole in the box next to the crack in the tube.

i should of quoted, no i ment mikes lol. was wondering if throttle body needed cleaning
