I went to the David Higgins rally school some years back and also managed to "win" the timed final run there that was also in an escort with an LSD, quite brilliant. One of the hardest bits was performing accurate hairpin turns using the handbrake. Sounds simple and everyone thinks easy but braking, steering, dipping the clutch to prevent a stall, and also getting into right gear for the exit can be a bit tricky at first. One of those things you can over think when other people are watching.
went down to phils yesterday, to do my BARS test, it was brilliant, Phil went through everything with us for the exam and then a blast out around the main stage in the dual control Impreza. Having never driven on gravel before and also never driven 4wd, I was amazing on how much grip you have!! can definitely recommend phil to anyone wanting do a rally day! we are going to go back for some tuition next year.
