RXE troubles

  Renault Clio
Hi guys

Looking for some help with my newly purchased 1998 1.6 RXE.

I brought it last week and have found a few problems :(

The main one is the immobiliser, I was given three keys for the car. One of them only opens the drivers door and nothing else and is a plip type key. But it doesn't open the doors when pressed.

The other two will open the passenger door and start the car, one is a plip type key and the other is a normal basic key. These both wont work the Central locking either.

So I have to use one key to open the driver door and another to start the car.

Last night the alarm went off when I opened up the car. But didnt sound off, just the indicators was flashing.

After a few attempts of locking and unlocking it was fine?

Now a different but I think maybe related problem is the speeo. When im driving, after about ten or 15 minutes, the speedo just drops. And will not work, some times it will vome bavk but most of the time it won't.

But if im driving on an A road this happens quicker and I also get a little orange light on the left side of the dash which looks like a heart monitor symbol. In the owners book it says this is the immobiliser.

When reading up on speedo problems I read it could be the sensor, so I have ordered a new one and will fit that at the weekend.

I would really like to have just the one key if I can but not sure how to go about it?

I also came across a couple of companies selling a immobiliser bypass. Woukd you recommend me going that route. Id rather not go to Renault as im sure they will charge loads.

Any help would be great if you can please guys

Thanks
Dan
