sacking off the changer

hi guys,
i have a 182 with a 6cd changer in the boot that 2bh never gets used. my question is, can i get rid of this changer and replace it with for example an ipod and still have use of the steering wheel controls.
im suspecting no, but if someone could confirm.

this could be the type of thing im after in a couple of months but im a fussy mother ******. and ive heard stories of the cabasse tuner list doesnt work with this, arghh.
i would want full steering wheel stalk functions to be working. so i can switch between radio and ipod with the 1 button like the changer. and then skip tracks with the scroll on the stalk. is this atall possible or am i livibg in a dream world.

youd have to check with the tunepoint but the connects 2 version of kit works with it to do the functions you require
