Safety Devices bolt in cage questions

  Cayman S, RB 182
Hi all,

I am toying with the idea of joining in with the group buy which is currently running but I'm not ready to dive in yet.

Basically I am wondering what people's views are on living with a caged car on a day to day basis?
I have a cayman s as my main car and have bought a 182 to use for track days and general use but also use it as my primary car over the winter months.

Am I best going for the full cage or just the rear?
I much prefer the look of the X over the diagonal but i believe this is less practical?

Cheers

Depends on your attitudes to safety I guess, door bars might be a bit of a pain if you're using it on a daily basis.

I use mine pretty regularly (full cage), doesn't bother me at all. As a second car alongside a cayman, I'd do it. Just use the cayman for comfort.

Depends on the model (how much metal and what grade the metal is). Not sure how heavy mine is if I'm honest. Less than rear seats though!

You will be fine with the full cage :) the single door bars run low-ish down. Its the double X door bars which can become a pain.
