the samsung one is selling in costco for 646 inc vat, the sound isnt as bad as people make out imo, makes no difference if you have it wired to your surround sound which you should in this day and age..

Exactly the problem.
I've stopped listening to people who judge sound and vision.

It's so down to the user..

Some people.. I've heard very good stuff and they say it's crap.. listen to a "recommended" one, and someone else says it's crap. You can't win!

I am slightly confused, from what i can see it doesnt support 1080i? Can someone clarify what the difference is?
