also, the *10 series of tomtom's (new ones) all come with the safety camera system installed out of the box. It works brilliantly.
daveio said:read a few reviews saying the windscreen mount doesnt fit to the bottom of the TT very well...dont know whether its true or not hows yours??

daveio said:sorry for the thread hijack just trying to decide if its worth it to sell the TT one for the new 510
Gweebs are the updates for the cameras free? also does the unit have to sit on the windscreen mount to charge it...if it doesnt i am not really bothered about the mount cos i will vent mount it

No one seems to stock them yet?
Tyson.

They work and are well worth the effort. I've got a FF182, thought the windscreen would be a problem. But it wasn't. Speed camera data comes already loaded, but when I subscribed to the updates, it made a lot of adjustments.
They're spot on......good purchase......:approve:

the windscreen mount on the new *10 range of tomtom's is sh*t.
it bounces around so much that the device looses connection and restarts on its own accord.
i contacted tomtom today and they are reproducing the mounts, which is why you wont find any stock anywhere. If you have one of the defective mounts then tomtom will swap it over FOC with a new mount.
If you wait another few weeks then the new stocks will be available to buy in the shops with the modified mount.
You will also need to upgrade the firmware on your tomtom, as the software on it when you buy it will take an age to lock onto the satellites. The new firmware takes about 30 seconds.
hope that helps. We've had all of the devices we've sold at work returned for the above reason. TomTom are aware and have reproduced the mount![]()

i'll report back on the progress, and the quality of the "new style" mount
luckily because i work at PC World they sort me out pretty quickly, and i have a direct contact at TomTom to b*tch too :approve:
Gweebs said:Looked into this a bit more now. Halfords were the first to get the new mounts in. So luckily for me, when I bought mine it came with the new mount. Also the firmware has been updated. Its on Version 6 now. If you have a *10 TT with a version 5.* then you have the old mount.
fUbAr said:i got mine the day they came out, TomTom 510 with firmware version 6.02 pre-installed... yet my mount was deffective.
