SatNav reciever postion

Right anyone know where the best place to put your sat nav reciever is? At the moment I have it placed on the dash at the front of the widescreen in the middle (by the little square piece). I get good recpetion but was wondering if there is a better place. I heard people say the rear quater windows are good? Anyone shed any light.

A few on here have theirs by the parcel shelf Tom, I guess they have an external aeriel add on though ?

I stick it in the tray thing on the top of the dash thats just about under the gap in the heat film stuff, used to put it in the little tray underneath the handbrake in my old dynamique because it was any early model without the head reflective windscreen but not in this one.

i have my sat nav on the dash infront of the square and my Origin B2 one on the driver's side rear quarter window ledge, both work fine.

ive got an external aerial for my navman and ive got it on the rear passenger side qaurter....always get a strong signal there.
