Scenic shifter- whats best?

Right. Getting the scenic shifter sorted but seems to be so many opinions as to what works best!
Have ordered Yanoo's stiff shift 3.0.
My plan was to bend the shaft slightly and extend the base section to shorten the shift.
Yanoo recommends fitting the 15% quickshift and shortening the linkage rod to get the shifter moved back a bit.
So which one is it? Yanoo obv knows his beans and a lot of folk have shortened the linkage but if bending works and is easier I'm more inclined to do that!
Ps- I know quickshift can f**k up the synchro so not 100% sure about that at the mo.
Help please!

Aye fair enough mate. Have you extended the bottom of the shifter tho? Slightly concerned about fitting a 15% quickshift.. are those easy to do? Not sure if the extended base section gives the same effect but is less likely to bugger the gearbox..

Sound mate. Mibbe do that rather than fit the quickshift. Will see how much room there is underneath first!

So.. next question... where can i get a non buggered gaiter for underneath? Or should i just buy a CV boot and bodge it?

That's a good question. There is a part number on it, i'll have a look tomorrow and post the number maybe someone can check for us.
I'm not sure if it's still available after a bit of googling..

You get a similar seal in with the rebuild kit that you are able to use but it's not as large, not that it matters. I'll grab a photo later

I use the boot from the steering rack.
I also have the scenic shifter and bend the shaft is a must, otherwise you will hit the radio and is not really nice to shift into 5th gear.
I have also cut around 2" from the stick, it is also a little higher than the OE one, but the throw is a lot shorter.
With yanoo is a really nice setup for road use.
