Schirck Timing

Car  Renault Clio RS ph2
Hello,

Schrick camshafts have different peak timing (Intake:125° Exhaust:110°) from original ones (Intake:124° Exhaust:104°, Catcams Gr.N) so they aren't timed up properly using Renault tool. How can they be timed properly?:S

Regards

they time up fine with the stock locking tools. The peak lift timing is changed with different lobe positions.

If you really want to fine tune them, then you will need to have something like the CATCAMS locking tools, which let you remove the rocker cover and use a DTI to time in the cams.

As I said though, the standard locking tool is good enough unless you're building a race engine for every last horsepower

Thank you Dan for your answer.;)

So on Schrick the position of camshaft grooves (compared with lobes) assures the peak lift timing is fine when use Renault tool (fit when grooves are horizontal and offset downwards).

I was somewhat puzzled thinking about Group N timing tool.

Regards.
