Scratch Removal / Touchup Kit.

  172
Hi, i've just got off the phone with autopaints and a nice chap told me that they only do water based paints by law now and I need a solvent based one if I want to touch up any scratches on my car otherwise I will get a poor match.

What are my options now then as he said if they have solvent based in stock they can still sell it. I haven't got a clue where to look though.

I have a scratch on the door about 2inches that goes throguth to the primer. I have a flame red (B76 ) so can any one offer advice? Do I need to primer the scratch 1st and then laquer it after or just touch it up? I was going to do it with a cocktail stick.

thanks.

tbh you can touch up with water based as long as you put some laquer over the top of it when its dried.

and tbh, any touch up wont look perfect, slight colour variation wont make any difference, youre still going to see it.

wont need primer, just paint and laquer or just paint if its the ready mixed stuff
