Scratch X by hand = EPIC FAIL!!!

  Clive the Clio no. 2
just finished trying to scratch x my whole car since 10am this morning,

tried it by hand and i can tell you that i failed.

I think i might have to invest in an orbital buffer thingy tomorrow!

Scratch X is faily gentle on the scale of things. For more cut try the Carlack Hand polish kit. These are a stronger abrasive and do more in terms of cut. It is still hard work though. This write up (about half way down) shows it in action: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/show-n-shine-focus-st170/info_19.html

The easiest way to fully correct your paint though is definately a G220. You can us ethat with proper machine polish abrasives to much greater effect.

I had a quick go with scratch x today and didn't really have much joy either. By quick I mean I just tried it only a few small areas after washing the car today.

I did seem to improve some of the marks on the paintwork but a couple of minor scratches I tried it on barely anything happened.

I applied it with an applicator pad which I would normally use for something like waxing and buffed off with a towel. Should I be putting lots of force into it when applying it ? keep going over the same area and buffing off? I don't really have the energy for it today but I want to give it a proper go next time.

You need something with more bite than the foam applicators . Use a folded terry towel and work the scratch x until there is nothing left .
