i have got about 60 xbox games but most of them are scratched to fook (how i got them) but fifa07 keeps saying ' the disc you are playing is dirty or scrathed' its driving me crazy,

i heard if you rub a tiny bit of vinigar on the disc it stops the scratches on the disc interfiering?

Yes.

Not sure it'll help the problem though.

Try the GameDoctor(tm). I have one, it doesn't seem to remove aftershave stains on COD2 disc though...

Try rubbing the disc with megs scratch X . You can buy products that supposedly remove scratches from discs which will do the same as the scratch x . Your effectively making the surface smooth again so the laser can either be absorbed into the pits on the disc or be reflected from the reflective part .

At the end of the day if the disc isn't workin' you have nothing to loose .

Hold it up to the light and see if there are any holes in the metal layer. If there aren't you might have a chance. I've used furniture polish and it has occasionally fixed the odd CD. The wax fills in the scratches and can make it easier for the laser to read. You can buy "CD wax" but I suspect it's the same thing.

I've used toothpaste with quite a bit of success. Very slightly abrasive, so smooths the scratches out. Make sure you do it in straight lines from the centre to the edge, and not round and round in circles. It takes a few goes sometimes, but I've only failed on one, and that was more stained than scratched.
