Screen display

  Clio 1.5 GT TDI
I'm wanting to have a display screen with sat nav in my car in place of the standard display. I have Bluetooth built in and I'm wondering whether putting in an after-market screen/radio would affect the Bluetooth function and the 'behind the steering wheel' buttons.
Thanks a lot!

I'd have thought it would affect the bluetooth, but there are adapters which can get your stalk controls back.

If the bluetooth is part of the stereo, you could always get a headunit with bluetooth built in.

Yeah that's a good idea, do you have any idea of how much they are roughly? And if I'd need a new head unit to fit it in?

I'll look for one of the Bluetooth stalks now, cheers!

Can i add some question on your theme...
I guess that you will need some 12V wire to get that display to function.

I would like to know how to get 12V where to find it. I think that a 12Vlighter is near handbrake what is faar away.
Here is the picture where i want to bring 12V

Yeah that's where I want it to go, but I'm sure a cable could be hidden down the side of the dash and brought back to the 12v port.

If not, could it not be fed from the existing power supply up to the current display or would it require more power?

Another alternative would be to bring the display down to where the radio controls are at the moment, below the a/c controls.

Just a thought but I'd like a screen inside

So .. you need a good man who works with plastic/fiberglass... and nothing is imposbile... He done this over my OEM radio display...

Now i'm lookng for 12V so i can charge my phone.
I listen my music from phone on car speakers through BT mode on HeadUNIT.
No more CD-s no more USB... i have navi, movie player, phone, internet... al of it.. and even CAR DIAGNOSTIC...
Ill put it all for about 15 days from now. Display is not painted and need to get 12V.

i hope that i gave you some new ideas.
Here you can see what guy is doing but i think that ipadmini is too much for clio right now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtXskNuGc-Y

That's more or less what I want too, but with a smaller screen eg 6.5".

If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for it all?

And who is doing your fibreglass for you?

Cheers for the ideas mate!

As if that is barely anything! I was expecting about 400ish for the plastic and finish. Not bad at all!

Just looked through your thread on your car and it's smart mate!

If it helps, I have a Kenwood headunit with Garmin navigation and bluetooth, as well as DVD, iPod and freeview (digital TV), but that's a bit more expensive.

  Clio 1.5 GT TDI
Yeah kenwood are expensive because of the quality. Did you for it yourself?

And yeah I'm just looking for something a bit cheaper than OEM but I can't find a lot and know of nobody who can fit them into my current centre pillar.
