Bit of a no-brainer really. How relaxed would you be driving fast on a plugged tyre.
Why not keep it as a spare if you have 5 alloy wheels ?

  AMV8, Mk1 Golf
dont have 5 alloys.

im well anoyyed only had the car 4 days and its costing me a arm and a leg litrally :(

should be able to fix that no probs providing you havent sprayed that nasty s**t in there from Halfrauds.

I got one of mine done by a big nail and STS fixed it for £16. I'll give it a try but was wary of it for a couple of days after etc.

It should be fine.

I've had bike tyres plugged in the past and done a few laps on them at track days, with no problem.

But as Brain said it's upto you how comfortable you are with it. You could use it as a spare, but personally I think there isn't a problem with it.

well i dont no how far ive drivin on it flat, may have screwed the side wall??

hope it can be plugged. but am abit causion about it, prob wouldnt have been bothered on the 1.2 but the 172 is so uch more powerful it needs good tyres

see, there you go Laura! you still on a half day tomorrow? if so get it over to ATS or kwik fit near my house and get them to repair it. If they can't I've found you one for £62 anyway, so that's £20 saved already.

I had a nail in my tyre a few weeks back, it had fucked the tyre wall aswell, so needed a new tyre, but the nail was too deep for it to be repaired anyway.

  1.2 16v Dynamique.
as long as its not on the edge or the wall it should be fine to plug. the tyre depot will let you know though. plugs are safe to use. if they were'nt they would not fit them!

I had a nail in my tyre and it kept going down. I eventualy repaired it and the tyre was fooked because i ran low on pressure :(. It runined the wall.

  BMW M3
A mate of mine owns a tyre repair company...... And as previously mentioned, as long as its not near the side wall, and they do a good job there is nothing to worry about.

I got a nail in a brand new PE2 with only 100 miles, and he repaired it no probs.

Oh, and apparently the foam stuff doesnt make any difference... he said you just wash it out and away you go.

  Renaultsport Clio V6
the rear tyre on my vee has a plug in. Seems fine. Better than paying £160 on a new one.

  Tangoed Works
Plug is fine from my experience, general road driving an a few high speed bout and no probs. Tyre is almost down to its last legs now and it has been fine.
