hey right im thinking about cleansing my paint next week to start of from a base coat as atm it has srp then chemical guys wet mirror finish and then vics wax now i was wondering as im after shine more than anything as i usually end up waxing atleast once every 2 months. do i really need the wet mirror finsh and a glaze? or is it best to just stick with using just the wax aslong as i keep it topped up? sorry about the stupid thread i bet i sound like a right noob ;)
any help would be appreciated thanks

I personally think sealants give there best with metallics for flake pop etc instead of flat colours such as RB, for that I'd recommend carnuba based products such as wax or something like werkstat jett carnuba for example. If you've already got good prep then personally just wax as a glaze will not add a great deal IMO. Glaze will be good for hiding or temporarily perfecting the surface if not well prepped. A sealant under wax will probably add additional protection providing the wax / sealant are compatible but not necessarily needed with such regular re waxing.

thankyou dave very helpfull that. i think im going to strip it all of and just stick with the wax in the hope that the shine is just as good. would a crappy sealant stop the wax from giving its full potential of gloss and shine? what im trying to get at does a wax work best on its own (on a polished finish) and would adding sealant etc when its not needed take away from the shine? sorry about all the stupid questions. i guess really the best way is to just try it out for myself lol

I would clean as usual then polish, wax. Then In-between washes I would use Z6 to bring the shine back.

What wax you got for the RB.

i would recommend z8 over z6, i found tht z6 really doesnt improve the look at all
but it differs for different ppl i guess.
i personally aint a fan of sealents, much prefer a good wax :)

A sealant isn't "needed" no.

Wet Mirror finish is actually a glaze come sealant btw, not a true sealant per se

im using vics concours wax with megs last touch between washes, may have to try some of the z8/6 though looks like good stuff would it be a good improvement over the megs spray detailer i use?

I never knew that lol. :)

I think Z6 is really good for in-between washes brings back the shine and looks lovely only downfall doesn't add any protection, but you have the wax underneath.

I also have the Werkstat Carnuba Jett if I want to top up my protection. I think it is again a really good product. I would recommend the Werkstat for your your RB like Dave said if you want to add protection between washes.

Very easy to apply spray on a panel at a time then just wipe straight off not allowing it dry.
