sell up question...

a flat has came on market which i really like and is close to my parents place, to go for it would need to sell this place and probably car as well and get something cheaper....

my question for you is this.....

ultra red 57 plate 197, xenon'd, electric folding door mirrors, climate control..2400 miles...registered 16.9.2007...how much would you ask and whats best option for selling?

my plan is to get a smaller size clio perhaps one of the deals like £150 a month for a 1.2 say for 3 years

  Golf R soon...
How much was the car when purchased?

I would say 11.5k - 12.5k at a rough guess

Get the purchaser to give you money in exchange for the car. Works every time.

On a serious note, if you want a quick sale, whack it up at £10,999. If you can wait a month or 2, then £12499. All imo of course.

nah, you wont ever make 12.5k on it.

It doesn't help that the cup has just come out, and pretty much all 197FF buyers are speccing it with the cup pack, suggesting that the cup pack is pretty sought after. R27s seem to be making best on 2nd hand right now.

The tasty deals being offered brand new are really killing 197 residuals at the moment.

Sad to say, but you'lll be looking at around 10k maybe 11k at most.

Jesus, thats lost 1/3 of the value in under 6-7 months! Glad I bought the R32 now!

Why won't it sell for £12.5k? I've been selling Renauts for 7 years, it will sell for £12.5k. He/She will just have to be patient. I sold a 06/06 billy base 197 in albi blue in january for £11999.

okay, of course there's a possibility that it'll sell for £12.5k, but i doubt it in the current climate.

And since he/she is after a flat deposit soon, i doubt they can afford to be patient.

Brand new Cups have been going out at £13k, yet when you sold the albi blue majority of dealers were holding firm on Cups at list so maybe that contributed to the sale.

Its a buyers market.. if u can get a new Cup with A/C at £13k, would u really spend £12.5k on a 6 month old 197, even if it is a FF with xenons?

I wouldn't spend 9k on one, but thats me... theres no accounting for the stupidity of the general public.

If I was the OP, I would put it up at 10,999 and get rid. If they're that desperate for a property, it needs to be priced to sell.

you also forget the cs 'i want something for nothing' on this forum!

I think Daniel makes the most valid points.

But with most cars, selling so new, you will always take a big hit.
