When I Start the car the oil indicator is also flashing so i'm obviously low on oil. Now, my question is, should you check your oil level when the car is warm or when it is cold? I have heard different recommendations on doing this. I checked it with the car warm and it was just slighty above the minimum.
I will get a litre or so from the garage and do a top up for now as it's in for the 12k service soon anyway.

dude, check your level whenever. just on a dead flat surface etc... always check it when you can otherwise you can end up in deep doggy doo.

I had the car parked half up on a kerb for a couple of hours, I wonder if that is something to do with it?

check it on a flat,after it has been standing for about ten mins,gives the oil a chance to drain bk into the sump to give u a correct reading mate
