Server Cooler

Ive cobbled together a basic network media server/download box out of some bit’s I had knocking round.

It’s a 1.2 athlon, 512ddr with 120gb and 80gb HDD’s. And it all working great and doing its job

Thing is the CPU cooler is WELL LOUD!!! It’s in my room and it being a download box its on overnight and it drives me mental.

So can anyone recommend a quiet cooler for a socket A chip.


BTW im not gona be doing anything silly like playing games or overclocking it.

Water cooling is another good solution, but having water noises while your sleeping.. and you still need air assisted cooling lol. and call me paranoid but I was always taught water + electricity doesnt mix..

Not heard too many stories of leaks though so probably just me..

distilled water would be alright fr getting round the electricity thing though.

But i say get a zalman as well i use them in both my systems.

Mmmmm the zelmans look quite big gona have to see if it'll fit in the case and not catch IDE cables/ram and stuff
