You need to get it on the star machine at renault.

the service light is nothing to do with having a service. it normally comes
on with another light (like airbag) it tells you if something is up.
try wiggling the wires under the passenger seat, as clios have a commen problem.
it might go off, if not you will have to get it reset at garage.

i thought the service light just meant your car needed to be serviced????????

Not on a clio, the service light on the clio means you have a problem.
