Service Price....YOU WHAT

Ok so after having the valver for just over a year, thought id treat her to a full on service at Renault. Quoted me £380?? Is that about right?? There is also a few little annoying things Ive asked them to sort out......they said I would be charged an extra £99 for an hours worth at just looking around to what else they can find. To top it off I made the mistake of asking how much to get the damn cambelt changed as it aint been done yet and Ive got 52k on the clock.......£650 just to do the cambelt!!! Has anyone else paid out this much for such work??

Cambelt is about £200 - £250 ish iirc

The last time my car saw a Renault garage was when it left the for-court. Its been a little negleted before I got it so just want everything sorted. The other garages near me are a bit "do what you likey" if get my drift. Sod the cam belt for now tho, thats just crazy!!

Paid about 180 for my cambelt to be done and another 130 for a full service. Which branch quoted you that price?

Id never take mine to renault. They qouted me 750 quid to have a new clutch fitted!!!!

Renault garages dont have the best mechanics always better to go to a specialist like gdi,ktec,bb or torsion etc....

wouldnt pay any where near that, the guy i use usually charges about £90 for a full service (supply my own oil though)

Good job I didnt take them up on the offer then. Where and who is this Andy @ GDI person. got a website? Im in Surrey if anyone knows of anywhere thats a bit more specialist??!?

I had mine done at 5alive in south london. They specialise in older clios and R5 GTTs. Seen a couple of other valvers in there apart from mine, which is great as every other garage ive had quotes from seem to mix my car up with an rsi when i tell them what it is. I wont take it anywhere else.
