Servicing Advice Please...

  C3 Picasso Beast
Basically at the start of October it will be a year since I had my 48k service done on my 172. Thing is I've only just hit 55k the other day so obviously come October the car isn't going to be due for it's 60k service and it probably won't be for several months as yet due to a change in job that's just a 5 min walk away...

So my question is even though my service book states next service would be 60k or 2 years (i.e. October 2011) what would you do if you were in my shoes?? Have a service done after a year or leave it until I hit 60k or next October if I still haven't hit that?? Oh yeah and also if you did have it serviced I'm guessing you'd go for just the usual stuff like oil change, air filter that would be done at 60k??

Thanks in advance...

No such thing as a 60k service, it's simply 12k and/or 2 years from your last 12k/2 years service.

However i'd do atleast one service a year.

I hate the 12/24/36 etc service thing, cos who does exatcly 12k a year forever.

In answer to your question though, i'd get it serviced at 60k (assuming your last was at 48k?) or in October 2011, whichever comes first.

In my service book, I'm pretty sure it says every 12K or 2 years whichever comes first.

If I understand your question, you're saying should you have it done in October, because although October is neither 12K nor 2 years since your last service, it's hard to get out of the habit of servicing every 12 months?

IMHO, Renault said 12K or 2 years because that's what they believed was the right. If you feel that you've given the car a hard time since it's last service (maybe a track day or 2), or you cut costs on oil etc. last time , or you think that Renault are just plain wrong, then sure, have it serviced.

If you think that Renault probably know what they're doing, you haven't ragged the car and that the last service was a quality service then I'd say you should save your money.

Looks like you've done 7K in 11 months? Before you know it you'll hit that 12K mark. I'd save my money 'till then, and get it serviced on schedule.

Whatever!! 60k or 5 years! Does it matter mine is at 60k and is having a 60k service!

No it's having a service at 60k, not a 60k service. Unless everyone drives exactly 12k a year i don't see how that service schedule would work.

12k or 12 months. 18 months on a 1.2

My manual says 2 years and/or 12k.

and

There you go-

Provided by renault-

intervals are 2 years or 12k
