Servicing costs

Why are the 1*2's so expensive to maintain and service? Speaking to a guy with a new 350z, his service prices are lower? How? Surely the parts for a 3.5l V6 would be higher than a 2l 4?

Size/Number of the cylinders doesn't relate to the cost of parts/labour charges etc tho? Agreed Renault are well expensive but his car is after all just a Nissan ;)

servicing has more to do with labour costs.

IE: if you need to remove say a lower engine cover, to get to the oil filter, then its gonna cost more than a car where the oil filter is easily available etc.

Plus prices vary from garage to garage.

Ask him how many MPG he gets.... then u will realise his costs more to run! hehe!

its often the cars you'd least expect to be cheap to run that are the cheapest! Saabs and Volvos are usually very cheap on services, and i even hear Porsches are not that bad relatively speaking.

First and second service on any car these days is little more than an oil change.

1/2 hour labour, 5 litres of oil and a filter. A casual look at the brake pads, maybe an air filter. £130 pounds please.

It's going to be a similar price at Nissan and Renault.

if you're spanner friendly, buy the parts in and do it yourself - apart (mainly) from the cambelt, the servicing schedule on these is a doddle
