set-up question

  182 Trophy
I have a 172 cup and recently took it on the track for the first time.

Was really good, but just understeered way too easily.

I'd like to either drop the front slightly or play with the roll bars. I don't really want to touch the camber too much as it's perfect on the road, but might tweek it a little. Am i right in saying you can get a small amount of extra camber from the standard suspension? And what is the specified camber from factory? I've read about "camber correction bolts/kit". What do they actually "correct" under what circumstances?

I was thinking about playing with roll bars too - much easier too tune at a trackday. Does anyone know of good adjustable ones?

I don't really want to go too mad with buying bits for it as i'm not going to have it for long enough to warrant the outlay. (as mush as i'd love to fit fully adjustables to it!)

Also just want to recommend the brakes i have: Ferodo DS2500 pads and Brembo high carbon discs. Were fantastic! And even the standard fluid didn't cause me too much of a problem!

Thanks, Nick.:D

I'd get camvber correct bolts or better still get some decient quality bolts in varying thickness stock thickness is 15mm from memory I'll check tomorrow so get say 2 14 2 13 etc and undo the top bolt stick the small one in psuh the hub hard over and tighter. You'll find running to much camber with bolts and the driveshfats will knock your usually aok upto about 0.5 degrees more than stock on normal ride hight.

12mm bolts in the top hole will give you 2.0 degrees negative - seems to give ideal wear pattern on track. You will need aircraft spec high tensile 12.9 and matching nuts - I used Spiralock nuts M12 x 1.75 and as per their recdommendations torqued them to 180 NM. Have been fine all season.
