Hi all.

Im 28 yrs old, been and done the BMW M3 and Impreza sti etc and need something a LOT cheaper on insurance, a little better on petrol and a bit cheaper to maintain, so I am VERY VERY seriously thinking of getting a clio 172 or 182



Are these cars resonably quick? Can they keep up with the civic type r etc?

Im a 17 stone weightlifter and im worried I may be too old and big etc for the clio..would I look a total idiot in one?

They have no problem keeping up with a CTR, the CTR would start to pull away slowly over 100mph though.

whats MPG if your are taking your rime in one?

baring in mind that 80% of my driving in dual carriageway and motorway etc.

HATE the civic type r = looks 2 much like a focus and dash is YUK.

also, ANY difference in interior or power between the 172 and 182?

26 - 38mpg all depends on how you treat it.

172 = 169bhp

182 = 179bhp

Interiors are nearly identical.

Personally i would go for a full phat 182 with the CUP packs, - all the toys and great handling!

scoobytyper26 I went from a 440 bhp evo IV to a clio cup!!
The evo was thirsty, big and expensive to run admittedly it moved but the cup is so much better/fun/cheaper to run.
Im 64 16.5 stone weightlifter/basketball player. I fit in the cup a treat.

You could, yes.. for a very short period of time they were available in silver and with air-con (but not climate control)

I test drove both the CTR and the 182 with the packs on and both are great cars... However, I pick my 182 (Black gold) on Tuesday!!! Cant wait!

The only V6 Clios I have seen have been driven by oldies and two by women! The younger guys round me seem to go for Evos, Scoobies or Type Rs!!

Seating position is a bit weird, but it feels normal after a while,

Still seems to fly even with my extra 20KGs
