Shall I mod my car or not

  None

cant decide if i wanna mod my car or not. Obviously it would be nice to have a 172 but that would be costly. Im not to worried about the power cos most the time theres too much traffic to get any speed out my car. What shall I do - mod it or leave it alone and get another car??

  Meg on pistonheads £6995

LEAVE IT

AND save, save, save

a standard Oasis in good nick with a wodge of receipts in a nice little plastic wallet will ALWAYS sell easily cos of low insurance, running costs etc.

** ANY modded lower end spec car is difficult to sell **

ask yourself - if you needed a cheap runabout would you want a mint standard Escort Popular or one with black windows, a huge exhaust and a Cossie spoiler??

mod it, when it comes to selling the car, set it back standard and sell the bits seperatly, that way you get much more return for the money spent

i asked the same question a few months ago and decided to .................leave my car alone!!!

If you do mod, then SUBTLE is the name of the game like the others have said. I was only planning wheels, lowered, exhaust, maybe colour coded, etc.

I have decided to save for something faster although I was very tempted to get mk1 172 wheels recently!

pow you would not have done a mod to that car even if i gave you those wheels lol, which i did offer at a very good price. p.s. i just got some clio sport goodies from my mate at reno.I will give you a sticker for your motor so it wont drop in value lol:D

see in the pub on sat mate!

Wanna try an leave it alone but thats so hard to do lol. Ive seen a few 1.4 16v sports at a fair price - should cost much to insure. Suprised no ones told me just to get a 172 yet :p

My sensible side says no.. its just lost money.

I did.. I spent a lot of money on it and nwo I gotta sell for a lot less than Ive spent on it, let alone including cost of the car!

You have to do it once.. to realise what its like to mod a car..

Now I have a Williams, and its staying standard!

You are right it would prob be a waste of money. Think im gonna just try and save and get a 1.4 16v sport :) least i can do the engine a bit if i want a bit more power

There getting on a bit but find a mint valver.

My 1.4 is staying standard with the long shot hope I can afford to sell it for a valver whilst at university :p

If you do mod, dont do anything that cant be changed back, just get alloys maybe a back box, other wise itll just make a b**ch to sell and youll get less..

  don't

sell it and just get a faster car, 172 182 etc

what, sum1 had 2 say it lol, :) go subtle m8

get sum alloys on it, get sum 2nd hand 1s if u want so its alot cheaper, then when u wana sell car just swap wheels back over and sell the alloys that u bought

u cant lose that way m8 and u improve looks a little

  A silver Honda

Lower it, zorst & IK and alloys. Ive got a K-Tec system and a K&N but thats all im doing to my 1.4 8v engine. I may get a decat though.
