Shield help

My shield behind the engine is in a very bad condition, so will it be a problem regarding noise/heat if i just remove it? or any other soultion?

the brake lines sit behind it, remove it and replace it with some other headsheild

ok fred what else would be fine to put...i tought to remove just the upper part (because it's in bad condition) of the shield, the aluminium shield on the manifold stays
