Shift light on my Cup

My cup has covered about a thousand mile snow so I thought it was time to try out the shift light. I didnt want to overcook it, but I think I gace it plenty in first and second, but it never came on.

What rpm should it tell me to shift at?

Cheers

It varies from gear to gear. Just warm up the engine and boot it in neutral - itll come on! (about 7000 usually)

Yeah, I think it should be either 7000 in first, 6750 in all other gears, or 6750 in first, 6500 in all others, it basically comes on a few hundred rpm before the limiter, and the limiter is higher in first than other gears (erm or did I just dream that?)

hehehe, and Im gonna get all the limits raised so I can get a bit more top end out of it once its on the bodies ;) - well, gotta better you on that quote somehow paddy LoL

Im impressed with your patience Talizman, I had mine bouncing off the rev limiter well before 200 miles! I couldnt resist!

The shift light seems to light up at different revs depending on gear and engine temperature.

Your next challenge is to learn to change gear after the shift light but before the rev limiter kicks in. It takes a while to get it consistent in 1st and 2nd. That rev limiter is a bit vicious........

Neither can I mate, Im having real trouble with it, waiting for anything kills me, waiting for the weekend on a tuesday is going to be murder, but have to wait maybe another 3 feckin weeks, then knowing Im maybe gonna be away when it getting completed !!!!! AArrrgghhhhhhhh

:p:cry:

Good question, I know itll be done before June 27th which is the Bedford track day quite a few from here are going to, but when before then..... who knows, but Im keeping in touch with them on the developments....;)
