shift light power

iv had a shift light for ages sat in the corner of my room, but the ciggy lighter adaptor is missing, i was gonna hard wire it in, but i wondered if anyone had any idea if i would need to fuse it at all, or just run it straight off the 12v? iv tried and it works, but i dont want it to blow up hehe!

I cant find any info on teh net about power rating, it just says 12v

if you hard wire it to the 12v your gonna be running it off the battery at all times thus flattening you battery!

i would fuse it personally but you could wire it into the ciggy lighter??? then if it gos you know what fuse it is??

yeah i was gonna wire it to the ciggy lighter, but 12v is too much and will probably kill the thing, or the wiring!

If it had a Cig Plug on it, itll be able to go straight in the cig lighter. What Id do, to make it neat.. is to wire it into the back of the lighter.. very easy, and itll be neat. Itll also go off when you turn the ignition off..

Youll have no wires around and itll all be neat!

Just make sure you get the +ve and -ve right when ya wire it up!

You could fuse it - but you would need to see what power it draws to get a suitable fuse - else itll just blow up anyway.. but, it shouldnt be a problem!
