should i buy this car

one owner clio dynamique, 8000 miles, silver, 1.2, 1 lady owner 1 yrs warranty left, excell cond, they want 5500, sounds good to me, what do you think?????

I would personally never buy a car owned by a woman unless she knew her cars. I know no women who look after their car in any way. Thrash from cold, never change the oil etc etc

Really?? Obviously you’ve never met me, my sister, my girl friends or most of the women on here. I paid a lot of hard earned dosh for my car and I have no intention of neglecting it in any way. Stop generalising mate it’s getting tiresome, blokes are just as capable of neglect.

That sounds a good price!! Cheapest your going to find, you could maybe even get her down on the price more if you offered cash.

*sigh*

Offers, offers.... ;)

To be fair there are good female drivers, (I have yet to meet many though)and there are some good male drivers. On the whole I would prefere buying a car from a woman though they dont seem to driver as much as if they are on the race track like most men.

The car seems to be priced about that other cars on Autotrader are. However a new Clio maynot work out much difference in cost taking the free insurance into account.

On behalf of us women, I have to say that I have looked after every car that I have owned, much better than most blokes I know - except for my dad who trained me in the art of car care!! ;)

instead of every female ripping off king.strombas head, I think you should read more into what he is saying. A higher percentage of females do not look after their vehicles, out of say 30 females that have cars .....only 1-2 of them are capable of looking after their cars.....where as if it was the other way around...out of 30 guys......10 would know... Its a bit like the statistics of traffic offences......most are committed by males.....but women are catching up.....FAST !!

He isn’t generalising .........hes just stating the facts..............it just didn’t come out the way he intended it......did it stromba mate ? Yes blokes are capable of neglect...but a higher percentage of females are unable to maintain their vehicles to a satisfactory condition

Males are better at some things & females are better at other things......so ....ffs....chill !!!

gazza the price sounds ok, why are they selling it ...esp at that price ? I’d get it checked by the AA or RAC , then if a problem does surface at least you have something to fall back on....make sure you HPI it before parting with any of your cash.....it might have been in an accident....or have outstanding finance on it........I don’t think you should make the decision to buy the car just by asking people on here..... we cant see the car & only you know all the details about it just go through everything with a fine tooth comb !

Talk to the person that has been driving it.......ignore the fact of their sexuality.....find out if they have maintained the car or has it been done by a local garage....in which case you should have garage bills !

Fair point, Fartherted. But I talk from experience, when Ive bought cars off women they have been looked after with all the service history etc... One car I had, had been serviced every six months without fail!! Then I sold it on to a mechanic who drove it so hard that the body work fell to bits, literality. Hes still got the engine I think

My hubby drives his car like hes got Michael Schumacher chasing him...I wouldnt buy a car off him....and mine gets even the smallest thing sorted ASAP, well within Renaults time scale.;)...my sisters car gets the same immediate attention!!

But, I do have one girlfriend who doesnt know her arse from her elbow when it comes to car’s and driving them.....I would never buy a car off her either...she keeps on asking to drive mine...NO CHANCE!!!

i know what yer mean vivJ, theres a girl that works at a garage near me & shes a fully qualified mechanic........and bloody good at what she does , on the other hand my sister is the same as your girlfriend......usless with cars. Theres iain round the corner.....drives like a old woman !...but id buy a car off him.....coz id know he hasnt driven it hard & its been looked after. Theres differences in everything, i do drive my car hard sometimes, but not 24/7, & i try to repair things ASAP....& it niggles me even if i have silly bits missing or broken, like bits of trim even ! As for drivin cars hard it just depends on the vehicle, some vehicles are capable of coping with a bit of welly, if you drove a 1.2 hard then eventually it will give up.

There is a much higher percentage of women that do not look after their cars but i dont think its due to lack of intellect, its just because they dont have the interest, i for example...detest football & rugby etc.....im told thats unusual somtimes (for a guy anyway) There are things that women excel on over men & viseavirsa......one thing is 100% gauranteed...this age old battle between the sexes...will probubally carry on until the human race expires.....but you never know.....oneday it might reach a happy medium ! (miracles have been known to happen! ) lol ;)
