Should I by a renaultclip?

Not as simple as buying and using.

Very complex bit of kit, that needs full understandment before use.

Tbh half the dealerships have no clue on how to use it.

Iirc you also have to pay for/aquire regular updated software.

Most Dealer/Manufacturer diagnostics is hugely expensive - and They usually have 6 monthly updates sent direct from factory on disc and those discs are then returned/destroyed

And as been said most the Techs dont know how to use it correctly as some of them are a bit backwards

As above. Don't buy a counterfeit item. It can cause a whole host of issues, aswell as allowing you to do more damage than good if you don't know what your doing with it.

I got a MaxiScan MS509, great peace of kit for just getting fault codes and resetting the ECU, only cost me £40, and payed for itself first time out of the box, sense then I have used it a couple of times now with Injector problems, it found the fault code, and gave me simple advice, like what cylinder the misfire occurred on, so I new which injector to change. And on top of all that it has advanced feature like live scan of some of the sensor from the ECU, and you can log this data, and transfer over to a computer.
