ive got a g220 and use it all the time. really good piece of kit, but if you've got time to practise then go for the rotary.

Do it, you could always sell it on and lose very little. Thats said - Even if you have a rotary there will always be uses for the G220.

Thats alot safer than a Rotary go for it.

Rotarys aren't half as dangerous as people seem to think! To do damage you would have to ignore clear warning signs and even then you would need to hold to polisher on the same spot for literally minutes before you achieved burn through. Just a steeper learning curve with the rotary that's all.

A said before it is the art of getting a perfect finish of the rotary, while starting out you will need a PC to refine the finish the rotary leaves till you master it. You would actually have to try to get strike through by either unless you get unlucky.

I have a G220 - the day I opened the box was the first time I'd ever even seen a machine polisher in real life heh. First attempt got good results, it's so easy to use, and now I've practiced a bit I can get rid of some quite major defects so they're untraceable. I'm not really sure how a rotary could really give any better results, certainly in my hands.

Ouch, still, after a bit of practising and a few spare weekends, you'll make that back easy by telling mates about your offerings!
