Should shock absorbers be replaced as a pair?

As above really.

One of my front shocks (cup spec) on my 172 I'm certain is buggered.

Can I replace just the broken one or is this best done as a pair?

Cheers! 😁

There no obvious oil on the shock, but it compresses fairly easily and makes quite a louder sucking noise when you compress it.

Also there's a light polish/wear mark on the drive shaft where its been rubbing on the small arch it goes through.

Thought it may have been the gearbox but it's not.

Cool beans.....I thought the advice would be to change as a pair but worth an ask.

£150 a pair for genuine items, you'd be abit silly not to.

of course then you'll see the state of the springs, the top mounts..............
Not long fitted PMS solid top mounts so one less horror to find lol

When possible it definitely pays to find the OE manufacturer these days rather than paying Renault prices.
