Once in a blue moon and just now I can only guess I'm having fueling problems on my 97' Mk1 1.4S.

On startup I pootle along and put my foot down and nothing happens! it'll either fly up the revs or do nothing and be jumpy.


Common with a car as it gets old or possible problem rearing its head...?

Been in a mk1 with 175 thousand om it and was still sweet, give it a service, spark plugs,oil,oil filter,fuel filter,air filter etc will see an improvement

wait for it to warm up (10 mins or so) before giving it some, lets the oil get to the right temp and lubricate properly

hhmmm.... Ive got a MK1 PH3 RSi, and i have the exact same problem sometimes when i am driving it feels really slow and slugish? and other times it flys an feels mucho quicker?

Must be the PH3 gayness LOL!

I agree with GavFre tho.... will be quicker when the oil warms up

I'm not razing it. Its not a sluggish feeling, I just have no power at say 2k! Had an iffy momeny at a r/a a few months back, wasn't going anywhere, then whem got power in time lol. It stops doing it after a minute or so. Hasn't done many K since the last service oh well due one in a month or so!

Yeah could be a phase 3 thing! Gray has your drivers side head light fallen out yet? lol
