I've got to work out the best connection to link 2 sites that are opposite each other in the high street. Once office hosts a security camera and info stored on a pc and the other office needs to access the image's from this machine. This system will be totally independent from the office network.

1. Wireless - signal might be too weak? office is 30m apart and it needs to be reliable

2. VPN both sites using vpn routers via ADSL (will need a new ADSL line in each site?)

3. Leased Line - ouch pricey but it's an option

Laser link if you can get planning would be good if you have line of sight?

ADSL at both sites when it's only across the road is criminal.

They already use Laser link for the office network - and I've been told I can't use it.

security is a concern also.

I used 2 x Cisco Aironets (1310s i think) a few years back to link up 2 offices 100m apart. Got full 54mbps across the link, ran 10 users and 10 VOIP nortel phones without a single hiccup, tons of security options, easy enough to setup. Think they were about £1200 with the mounting kits.

Cheers m8,

ideally it would be great to use the laserlink as a trunk connection between the 2 switches and just have 2vlans.
