Skoda splitter again

  182
Basically I made a mess of my first attempt of the skoda splitter, cut it too short, fitted it uneven. I was wondering what is the best way to fit it properly and not look like a bodged attempt. I was going to take the bumper off but one of the centre bolts isnt comming out that and the nut is just turning and I can't jam it so I can get it loose and get it off. Is it best to hold in place with the bumper to drill the pilot holes in, or just put them in the tabs.

cheers, Chris

I just mesured the spliter marked the centre of it then did the same to the bumper and just self tapped it on starting from there and worked my way out, once it was on I then trimmed it flush with a Stanley knife and super glued the end tabs back on so it looked all neat worked for me

Cheers, do you think its best to drill a pilot hole for the torx screw on the bottom corners of the bumper connecting to the arch liner, and use the torx screw from either side to fix the splitter, to the bumper and to the arch liner.

I think your over complicating the matter mate. Just line it up and drill in some self tappers. If I can manage to fit one of these relatively easily so could a chimp tbh.

I wouldn't worry about it if it won't sit flush you could but I wound just take a little notch out of the spliter that's what I did its not worth buggering about with it for to long

Got the splitter on today. Gluing the ends really does help it to sit flush and really look like an original part, I wonder if renault have realised why nobody is buying the original and the vw dealers are full of clios. Kept getting asked at the dealer if it would fit others cars like corsas and polos.

There's no need to glue the ends on... i just started at one side with self tappers and worked my way round to the other side and trimmed the other end.
(a garage lift made it all to easy too  )

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Find the center of the splitter and the center of the bumper, put a screw in, work outwards in each direction, trim the ends flush
