Slowest MK 2 Clio?

had a mk 2 clio pull up my arse yesterday at some traffic lights and start revving his engine, as we turned left we both gave it some, but i was pulling away from him? no silly speeds were achieved, we kept to the speed limits at all times.
i slowed down for a corner as usually either my back end goes twitchy or my car understeers, so slowed right down, looked in my mirror and he was having to give it full chat to keep up, on the straights, left him again.

again, no speed limits were broken and i dont endorse it

my cars a 1.4 8v maxim with the close ratio box. i was expecting every mk 2 clio to hand my ass to me being the newer car. so what is the slowest mk 2 clio?
