sluggish when trying to pull away

hello, i have the 1.4s. i was just wondeing if anyone new why quite often when i go to pull away in first or second my car immediately feels like its being pulled back, and only regains what power it has once i ease up on the accelorator

I take it it doesnt do it once the car has warmed up?

^ What he said! My Brothers 1.2 used to do this. Once warmed up was fine.

Check / Plugs / air filter / HT leads / T body.

I wouldnt worry about it too much mate my car seems "restricted" until the cars been warmed up, but then no car should be driven hard until properly warmed...

the problem happens when warm, also, it is quite often more responsive on days than on other if that makes sense. it is due a service, could this be the reason

Is it a mk1? What reg is it?
Does it only do it when warm? Feels like its mis-firing?

Spark plugs possibly, get it serviced
