small enclosure subs

i have got the mid and high pitched sorted in my acr but i need to add to it to produce the lower freguancy sound, i have a very limiting factor that means i have to locate the speaker/sub under one of the front seats,

so.... im looking for a small sub that works well in a small sealed enclosure, i havnt worked out what sort of volume box i can accomodate yet but im interested in looking what speakers would be suitable and then design the encolure (which will be a very funny shape) after i have an idea of size,

im thinking 8" max, and it would be a real bonus if i could power it suffciantly off the headunit (4x50, two channels free, not bridgable) but i have got a simple crossover system so there will be a low pass filter to the new speaker/s

any help much appreciated

Can be done, as my brother has placed two small subs under both front seats. I would definately recommend an Amp tho, just for clarity.

did u see 1 of the audio mags they made an enclosure for 2 8" jl subs that go just infront of the seats so they are under your legs looked wicked.

they just put masking tape on the floor then covered it in fiberglass and made summit to hold the subs out of mdf then put a support to hold the subs off the fg then covered it in fleese and put resin on it then just covered it in carpet looked sweet :)

to get any real sub bass you will need at least a 8" sub and amp, but will also need an amp. there are some new speakers on the market from Blaupunkt that are flat subs! sounds wierd but it is true these things can be mounted in the smallest of small enclousures, no idea on price but phone a blaupunkt dealler and ask about them as they sound ideal for your situation.

I will try and find out more about them and post back here.

I have a JL Audio 10W6 and it only needs a .625c/ft box. Not sure if that is small enough for you though?
although the 8" would need a smaller space.

Would definately recommend an amp though.

Also if you try Auto Acoustics they have a product called a http://www.autoacoustics.co.ukStealthboxz that fits in the rear arch of the boot and hardly takes up any room....not cheap though!

but then is anything related to car audio!!!
