smell of petrol ??

hi when i turn my heater on at the hot level i get quite a strong smell of petrol in my car any ideas why this may be happening?

i'd be under the bonnet checking fuel lines and also any loose connectors. sounds like a fuel leak/seep.
get it sorted quickly.

or is could be the flex .. mine smelt bad recently but i knew id kafooked my zorsts going over a large lump in the road..

and it reeked of fuel.. was the flex that needed replacing as is now magic-tree-a-licious !!

i have a k and n filter and a new exhaust from k-tec but both of these were fitted 2 yrs ago. what are tell talke signs of a petrol leak? ive noticed aswell it doesnt consistently happen? thanks for replies btw !
