Snow foamer lance

Right, spoke to Mark @ Autobrite and was very helpfull. He says he might have an adaptor for the Halfords model but reckons I can get a cheap "A grade" Karcher from eBay which is basically a new product which has been returned for whatever reason and reboxed. I have had a look on there, but not really sure what is a good deal. Not really bothered about all the attachments - all I want is the foam lance.

Anyone got any recommendations for where to get PW and/ or foam lance (the heavy duty version has been suggested)? Advice muchos appreciated - and I'm not that bothered if its second hand even, just so long as it works of course!

I bought a Karcher K2.35KB + on Friday from Argoooos.

£60, 1600w with 360L/pH and people have good results with it for snow foaming.

if anyone is around the birmingham/warwickshire area get down to wellsbourne market at the weekend, they flog new karchers CHEAP!

It's rated at 90, but it can do 100 max.

Here's someones first attempt at snow foaming with the above PW and the AB H/Duty Foam Lance.

Hmm still not bad though, I don't want anything too powerfull anyway - only going to use it for cars and maybe spraying down the driveway.

You going to get a Foam Lance 2thumbs? As the heavy duty ones are all like £50 from what I have seen??! Which seems a lot of money for what it is.

Just saw you have a HD Autobrite lance, didn't realise they would fit. How much and where from? Looks good! (Although Mat is still the spunk-king!)

Isn't my first attempt, I stole the pic from soneone on DW.

Yes I am getting an AB H/Duty lance. It's £50 but buying something cheaper is false economy. All the professional detailers use AB lances, if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me and you.

"If you buy cheap, you buy twice"

Yeah not disputing the logic of getting the best one, but is there nowhere to get one cheaper at all? Seems silly that the lance costs almost as much as the PW itself in my eyes...?

Not that I know of.

If you can, you wouldn't get the excellent after sales service that you get with AB.

Well I will have a look, otherwise I guess I will get it from AB as Mark was very helpfull when I spoke to him.

Is the AB significantly better to the Karcher one then do you know?

Very much, the Karcher one uses the bottle of solution far too quickly and it doesn't produce as much foam as the AB.

If you do decide to get one from AB, dont forget to get some Super Snow Foam! ;)

Sweet. Its quite small too, which is a good thing. Is it powerfull enough then, would have thought so?

The one I used to use at work was something ridiculous lik 400 bar - that was hella fun to use!

Hmm so £60 + AB foam lance...guess thats not too expensive, and will be worth it in the long run.

Right, time to email the father! :D

Received my AB Karcher foamer this morning having ordered it yesterday.

Earlier in the thread someone meationed about greasing the end of the foamer as it's a bit of a tight fit in the lance and they wasn't joking! Jees....

But it was cool to use.

Sweet. Looking forward to getting mine.

Now just need a water filtration system for the ultimate setup - wahey! :approve:

That was me. ;)

I'll be ordering a Foam lance when I next get payed.

Right, think I am getting the same PW as you now. Not quite as powerfull as the Halfords one but should be better build quality. Then just got to get the AB foam lance over Christmas - sorted!

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Think I have made the right choice.

Damn. I already have a pressure washer but mines some random "Delta jet pro 1200" or something like that and i assume it wont have the fitment for the lance (unless someone knows otherwise?).

What does AB mean by the way? Are you talking about this setup?

This pressure washer:

Finally this:

Is this a very good setup? How long is 5 litres expected to last?

Cheers.

AB = Autobrite. If you look them up on the net and give them a call, they should be able to tell you if they are compatable, I assume you will need an adaptor if so though. The guys name is Mark, was very helpfull when I spoke to him.

Thanks for that Brand. Ill give them a call tomorrow, really do need to get the proper manufacturer for mine though because it seems none existant whenever i look for it.

So autobrite do the foam lance i linked to above? Or karcher do? Thats where im getting confused i think.

That one is the Karcher Foam Lance, the Autobrite version is pretty much the same (well versions - they have a normal and heavy duty version) except meant to work slightly better by all accounts, thats why I am going with them rather than the offical Karcher one.

Ah ok so you have the Karcher power wash i linked to and the AB foam lance? If so i assume you need an adapter?

I don't actually have either the washer or the foam lance yet - getting them for christmas. As I understand it though the AB lance fits the Karches pressure washer without the need for a specific adaptor - but I could be wrong. Best to speak to Autobrite directly as I don't want to quote something I'm not entirely sure on myself at the moment.
