So tired of worrying about dents...

If so...what? Let it keep happening and do nothing?

Fact is I have a private parking bay at work in a secure compound, no one parks next to me. No one can park in the bay at home next to me except my neighbour. I've not been anywhere but work or home in that car.

I am not Sherlock Holmes, but let's face it, you don't need to be. The odds are it was my neighbour, unless it was that rogue squirrel I've heard rumours of with paws covered in the same colour paint as my neighbours car...

I am not going to start an argument with my neighbour, I am sure it's an honest mistake but my actions are a preventative measure from it happening again.

Happy? :)

Surely you can make them for a few quid... Its just touch foam in a waterprove wrap....

Yea I did consider just making some with pipe insulation, cloth and magnets...but I cant be arsed hehe.

f**k that wobster - if its her, she parks too close and causing damage to the willy then she's firstly gotta pay for the damage but stop parking so close or she'll be paying all the time for fresh paint.

If she wants to cause an argument then thats her loss.

Yea I know Daz but I hate confrontation. She's unfortunately one of those people that does not 'get' the pride others may have in their cars. I doubt she ever will. Not worth the hassle.

I've got a bunch of bodywork to get done this year, I'll have to add the dents and scratches to the list (again!).

Had a similar parking situation about 2 years ago with my other Clio, it got about 6 dents all along that side as well. Not going to let it happen to the Willy!

That would piss me off major, Have a word with her.. man up.. She might think twice of wacking her door into yours if you have a word !

I wouldnt want door bumpers on the side of my car for the sake of a dozy bint.

Im also fed up of parking ages away in bays just so some r****d doesnt dent my car.

+1
Got to say something...

Its even more annoying when you do park miles away, then someone comes and parks next to you for no reason!!! I can't understand it, there is a huge f**king car park so piss off somewhere else!!!!

As for the defenders i think they look pretty good, but i would def try and catch your neighbour in the act (of damaging the car) then confront her, plus you could technically make a claim against her insurance if you do catch her!

Haha you sound exactly like me! Bloody depresses me when you get some t**t smacking their door into yours! I mean, how hard is it to get out of a car without smacking someones door! I get twitchy when I go the Trafford Centre of Cheshire oaks! I park about a mile away from anyone else and then when I come back I need to go round the whole car and give it an inspection lol.

Double parking for the win!

I was thinking more along the lines of put a camera up and record it. Then get them to pay for repairs. Was just trying to be subtle.

Only problem with that is some malicious tw@ comes along then and keys your car for parking in two spaces...

Ahh I see! I was a tad confused by your odd reply :) May be worth putting one of them mini security cams up I guess...if only to be a nosey git.

One of the problems I have heard about the door-defenders is that occasionally they will attract unwanted attention.

stick some pipe foam on the side and leave a note on there too saying "These are being used because of your inconsiderate nature".

lol I may do aye! I'll speak to her.

It's funny, because my other neighbour told me she usually (before I moved in) parks over our two bays to stop people parking next to her, to avoid PEOPLE DENTING HER CAR LOL.

If i knew my neighbour was denting and scratching my car, shed have hammer marks all over her bonnet. Im always careful to choose my space in a carpark but theres always some c**t that manages to dent my car.

I always find either an end space, so there's 4+ feet between me and the other car while I'm hugging the curb.

A RS Megane/Clio/Twingo etc.

Or a car that is clean as and looked like it's looked after.

Bit still nervous as about parking it anywhere, I've got like 5-6 dints in a matter of 2 months, along with a big huge crease in the door!

God I hate people who double park, I once caught a bint in a BMW 5 series doing it in a packed Tesco's, she parked diagonally, I went over and said just because she had an expensive car doesn't mean she has to use 2 spaces.

She said it wasn't her car and she wasn't used to driving it, It's not hard to select f*cking reverse. If you can't park properly, get the bus!

On the door bumping issue, I try parking near a wall or the trolly space, then you only have one other car to deal with!

I only double park at work! And only because I know there are more than enough spaces! I never do this in a proper car park!

Think this settles it, get her f***ing told, you can't use preventive measures like that to avoid the inconsiderate nature of others then apply that very same inconsideration in your own life, give her a dent for me while your there will ya
